Tools in this category come in different shapes and sizes, catering to the needs of different types of organization, offering more or less customization options and features for bigger organizations.

If you have never used a tool of this kind, you don't know what your organization really needs, but you want to start writing down people's commitments and activities, a good starting point is Trello, an all-rounder tool fit for small-sized organizations. It offers an intuitive UI and can go a long way with a small set of features.

Kanban Boards

The most common way to visualize and interact with tasks are the so-called "Kanban Boards". Born in the context of the Kanban method, they are now a tool employed by organizations operating in the most diverse manners.

While Kanban visualizations are offered by pretty much any task-tracking tool, the tools in this section are the ones focus almost entirely on Kanban boards and are usually simpler and more straightforward than other options.

Trello: recommended as your first Kanban board

NextCloud Deck: good option if you're already using NextCloud

Focalboards/Mattermost Board: very customizable and integrated in the Mattermost chat

For example, you could create a board for a protest, and add cards for each task that needs to be done. You can then invite other people to join the board, and collaborate on tasks. This can be really helpful for organising actions and ensuring everyone is on the same page.
